Ms. Woodside-Shaw is the chair of the Board and is one of Canada’s leading corporate and securities lawyers. Ms. Woodside-Shaw is a managing partner with the Canadian law firm Gowling WLG. and has 25 years experience advising Canadian and foreign companies involved in the mining sector on a wide range of matters including public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. She has her B.A. and LL.B from Queen’s University, is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors/Rotman School of Business Directors’ Education Program and has been awarded the designation “ICD.D” (certified director).
Mr. Canton is a Swiss Certified Public Accountant and experienced businessman with deep expertise in finance and marketing. He was active for more than 30 years in business consulting in the field of management, finance and auditing for numerous Swiss and international companies. He was instrumental in negotiating the merger between the Company (then named South American Silver Corp.) and High Desert Gold Corp. that resulted in the Company acquiring the Gold Springs project. Together with management, he negotiated the settlement agreement with the Bolivian government to obtain prompt payment of the company’s international arbitration award against Bolivia for the 2012 expropriation of the Malku Khota project. Most recently, he was instrumental in structuring the Company’s non-equity financing structure with a view to raising up to US$20 million to fund drilling programs at the Gold Springs project.
Robert van Doorn
Mr. van Doorn is a mining engineer with over 40 years of experience in mining and mining finance and has been a director of Romarco Minerals Ltd. until its acquisition by OceanaGold Corp. for approximately C$856 million in 2015. During his time at Romarco, Romarco advanced the Haile Gold project in South Carolina from exploration stage to a shovel-ready open-pit gold mine with an expected output of over 500,000 ounces of gold production in 2017. Prior to that, Mr. van Doorn has been Executive Vice President of Business Development for Rio Narcea Gold Mines S.L. (a public company with projects in Spain and Mauritania) where Mr. van Doorn was instrumental in the acquisition of the Tasiast project in Mauritania (now a producing mine owned by Kinross). Mr. van Doorn has also been a Senior Mining Analyst at Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon, a Global Gold Analyst at Morgan Stanley and a Business Development Manager at Royal Dutch Shell. Mr. Van Doorn’s achievements include investment recommendations and financing of successful exploration companies such as Great Basin Gold, Pangea Minerals Ltd., Platexco Inc., Argentina Gold and Arequipa, whose discoveries have been developed into major mines.
Mr. van Doorn was recently Chairman, President & CEO of Mundoro Mining Inc. (now Mundoro Capital) and Executive Vice President of Golden China Resources Corporation (a joint venture with Kingsway Capital, a Hong Kong merchant bank, involved in Chinese mining investments). Mr. van Doorn is currently a director of Cardero Resources and was previously a director of Leydenburg Platinum, Hana Mining and Golden China.
Mr. Roman Mironchik is a Managing Director of Izurium Capital, a London based private equity firm. Prior to Izurium, he worked on European TMT transactions in the London office of Francisco Partners, a leading US-based private equity fund. Before moving to Francisco Partners, Mr. Mironchik worked on direct equity investments and structured lending for RP Capital Group, a London based hedge fund. Mr. Mironchik started his career with Merrill Lynch’s London Investment Banking division, where he was involved in the execution of various M&A and financing transactions. Mr. Mironchik graduated with a First Class Honours degree in BSc Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Mr. Daspersgruber is the President of Kevel Consulting SA, a Swiss corporation which exercises control or direction over 10% of the the Company’s common shares. Mr. Daspersgruber is a Swiss financial consultant, primarily advising and managing international investment funds. He has over 30 years of experience in stock markets, derivatives, financial engineering and arbitrage
Mr. Dario is a financial consultant with more than 30 years of experience in corporate finance and asset management. He is a member of management and board of directors in various companies in the financial and investment sector. He formerly worked in executive positions with UBS AG and Bankinvest AG, Zurich. He is currently a board member of Banca Credinvest S.A., Lugano. Victor Dario holds a master’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Zurich, Switzerland.
